Oasis of Hope is changing the lives of street kids in Kitale, Kenya
Hi, I am the founder and Executive Director of Oasis of Hope....a 501c3 organization working to change the lives of street kids, orphans and other vulnerable children in Kitale, Kenya.
We primarily work though our Drop-In Centre to serve close to 100 kids who come daily for 2 meals and education. One by one, we transition the kids into either boarding school or a small group home environment. Currently, we have 52 kids who have been transitioned.
As for me...my dream is to live in Kitale full time. But, for now...I am working hard to fundraise and develop a team of people here in the U.S. who share my passion for these kids. Oasis has a wonderful staff of 11 Kenyans who run the day to day programs in Kitale.
Oasis of Hope welcomes interns and volunteers who want to go to Kenya and spend some time at Oasis of Hope. These visitors stay at Oasis House...a safe and comfortable compound located in Kitale.
Please check out my blog at oasisofhopekitale.blogspot.com to keep up with what is going on at Oasis of Hope.
