F Bombs

No this post is not about what you might be thinking…

I just wanted to get your attention.

F Bombs - refers to the food, fuel, and financial crises of 2008. The poorest and most vulnerable groups and individuals have been hit the hardest. The fight against poverty has taken a step back in some respects.

My Holiday Letter

Dear Friends and Family,

The Holidays are here! This has been a crazy year for Amber and I, and a difficult year for the whole world. As the economy continues to plummet, my thoughts are with the poorest of the poor, as they will feel the greatest impact of the downfall.

Gobs of new content, new ways to interact, and better ways of seeing exactly what it is that we're up to at The 1010 Project. We'll let you all know when things are ready to go, and we'll undoubtedly need feedback (positive criticisms, please!) so we can fine-tune the whole thing.

Watch this space!

Paradigm Shift: Microfinance - Recognizing the Rights of the Poor

Something I wrote a few years back... but still relevant I believe...

Paradigm Shift: Microfinance - Recognizing the Rights of the Poor
By: Adam Delp

When the word “poor” is spoken or read, what word(s) come to mind?

Some people think "needy", "lazy", "dependent", and "third world".

What if words such as "trustworthy", "dependable", "innovative", or "value-conscious" came to mind instead?

Even among development profess… Continue
